The RACC Fitness Center is available 24/7. The access card will also allow access into the Fieldhouse seven days a week from 5:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. (During the months of May - September the access card will allow access into the Fieldhouse from 5:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.) There will be times that portions of the Community Center will be unavailable for use due to community events, tournaments, or a rental. The Redwood Area Community Center reserves the right to close for holiday weekends or for maintenance. If so, plenty of notice will be given.
Assignment of Contract: Neither you nor any member hereunder may sell, assign or transfer a membership.
Community Center Guidelines: You and your guests agree to follow all guidelines governing activities involving the Community Center. We may cancel this membership if you or any of your guests fail to obey any present or future club guidelines.
Right to Management: Management of the Community Center may suspend or cancel the rights, privileges, or membership of any member whose actions are detrimental to the enjoyment of the Community Center by other members.
Valuable and Personal Property: You agree that we will not be held liable for the loss by theft or damage to your personal property or your guest.
Complete Agreement and Applicable Law: The terms as set forth on this two-sided document along with any and all guidelines governing Community Center activities constitute the full agreement between you and us. No oral promises are made as part of this agreement. The laws of the State of Minnesota shall apply to this Agreement.
Returned Checks: There is a $30 fee charged to you for any returned checks.
Minimum Age: Any children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by an adult (ages 18 and over). This would allow the children under the age of 9 to have access to the Community Center (if paid a daily fee or has a valid membership). Children under the age of 12 do not have access to the fitness center.
Proper Attire: Shirt and shoes are to be worn at all times while working out. Please bring an extra pair of tennis shoes to put on before using the facility.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE REDWOOD FALLS COMMUNITY CENTER
The Redwood Area Community Center is committed to providing a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for all users that attend the facility. To accomplish this it is necessary to establish guidelines and rules. This will assist staff in operations and the patrons in understanding the requirements in maintaining this atmosphere. In order to ensure a safe environment for employees and patrons, RACC prohibitsthe wearing, transporting, storage, or presence of firearms or other dangerous weapons in our facilities or on ourproperty. Any employee in possession of a firearm or other weapon while on our facilities/property or whileotherwise fulfilling job responsibilities may face disciplinary action including termination. A patron who violates this policy may be removed from the property and reported to police authorities. Possession of a valid concealed weapons permit authorized by the State of Minnesota is not an exemption under this policy
STAFF MONITORING
All Staff are expected to constantly be observing for situations that relate to proper use of the Community Center. All incidents should be resolved immediately and not considered trivial or inconvenient. Treat everyone with respect but be committed to resolving the problem.
PATRON MONITORING
We ask that all individuals attending the Community Center take it upon themselves to act upon problems they observe. Consider this to be your facility and “how you would want it treated.” Building Staff cannot possibly monitor every situation. We need the public’s assistance with reporting and mitigating inappropriate behavior. If you can correct the problem we applaud you, if you need assistance report to the nearest Community Center Building Staff person. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated and we will recognize those who go out of their way to take corrective action with persons that are not acting in a positive manner in the facility.
GENERAL BUILDING
If at any time the actions of a patron are negative to the atmosphere of the Community Center they will be given a verbal notification to correct themselves. If the patron(s) does not take corrective action, they will be asked to leave. If they do not leave upon request, the Redwood Falls Police Department will be contacted. In some cases, a person’s actions may require them to be suspended from the facility. The building staff should be involved in all suspension judgments and an incident report will be completed for documentation. The building staff duty must contact the Redwood Falls Parks & Recreation Director when an incident like this happens. Examples of behaviors that won’t be tolerated:
- Intimidating/Threatening
- Bullying
- Disobeying known or posted rules
- Loudness (shouting, screaming)
- Foul language
- Jumping on furniture, railings or counters, sitting incorrectly or standing on furniture
- Physical Abuse
- Running (outside of the fieldhouse)
- Fighting
- Endangering others
- Spitting
- Vandalism (destruction of property)
- Theft
- Verbal abuse of patrons or staff
- Shoes and shirts are required at all times except in locker rooms
Minimum Age

INCIDENT REPORTS
Anytime there is an incident that warrants communication to supervisory and/or management staff, a discipline report will be completed. When in doubt fill one out!
FIGHTING
Fighting of any kind on Community Center property will not be tolerated and may result in suspension from the Community Center for one year. The police will be contacted, and charges may be filed. Fighting is considered when two or more individuals partake in pushing, shoving, shouting, swearing or if punches are thrown.
LOITERING AND CURFEW POLICY
The Redwood Area Community Center (RACC) is a multi-purpose, public facility designed and intended to be used and enjoyed by patrons of all ages. The safety and enjoyment of the community and patrons of the RACC is a primary concern of the RACC Staff. Loitering on and around the RACC, including the buildings and parking lots and common areas, is prohibited. Loitering is defined as lingering idly or aimlessly in any area of the RACC without purpose, or hanging around in clusters and causing unusually loud or disturbing noises. The RACC curfew for children younger than seventeen (17) is 9:00 p.m. unless present in the RACC at a structured event or in the presence of a parent/guardian. Anyone identified as loitering or staying beyond curfew may be asked by RACC Staff to leave the premises.
TOBACCO
The Redwood Area Community Center Campus is a TOBACCO FREE facility. Absolutely NO SMOKING, CHEWING or other means of tobacco use is allowed inside the Community Center. No throwing smoking materials on the ground. Please use urns provided at each entrance. No spitting chewing tobacco on Community Center sidewalks, parking lots or roadways. Also it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to use tobacco products. We will uphold this law.
Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 144.414, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:
Subd. 5. Electronic cigarettes. (a) The use of electronic cigarettes, including the inhaling or exhaling of vapor from any electronic delivery device, as defined in section 609.685, subdivision 1, is prohibited in the following locations:
(1) any building owned or operated by the state, home rule charter or statutory city, county, township, school district, or other political subdivision;
(2) any facility owned by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and the University of Minnesota;
(3) any facility licensed by the commissioner of human services; or
(4) any facility licensed by the commissioner of health, but only if the facility is also subject to federal licensing requirements. (b) Nothing in this subdivision shall prohibit political subdivisions or businesses from adopting more stringent prohibitions on the use of electronic cigarettes or electronic delivery devices.
Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 144.4165, is amended to read:
144.4165 TOBACCO PRODUCTS PROHIBITED IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
No person shall at any time smoke, chew, or otherwise ingest tobacco or a tobacco product, or inhale or exhale vapor from an electronic delivery device as defined in section 609.685, subdivision 1, in a public school, as defined in section 120A.05, subdivisions 9, 11, and 13 , and no person under the age of 18 shall possess any of these items. This prohibition extends to all facilities, whether owned, rented, or leased, and all vehicles that a school district owns, leases, rents, contracts for, or controls. Nothing in this section shall prohibit the lighting of tobacco by an adult as a part of a traditional Indian spiritual or cultural ceremony. For purposes of this section, an Indian is a person who is a member of an Indian tribe as defined in section 260.755 subdivision 12.
ALCOHOL
Absolutely no alcohol is allowed anywhere on the grounds of the Redwood Area Community Center except when a rental contract has been signed and approved. Please refer to the liquor policy for specific information on alcohol in the Community Center. Anyone acting (due to alcohol consumption) in a manner which staff deems negative to the atmosphere of the Community Center will be asked to leave. If the individual(s) does not take corrective action the matter will be referred to the Redwood Falls Police Department.
DRUGS
Absolutely no drug use is allowed on the Community Center property. All incidents relating to drugs will be referred to the Redwood Falls Police Department.
LOST and FOUND
The Community Center is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. We will provide a lost and found location where individuals can look for missing articles. After a pre-determined period of time, lost and found items that are unclaimed will either be thrown away or given to charity.
DAMAGE TO PERSONAL PROPERTY
The Community Center is not responsible for damage to Personal property. Any personal property that users bring to the Community Center, do so at their own risk.
FACILITY RULES
Fieldhouse Rules
- Tennis shoes must be worn on the gym floors. No bare feet, street shoes or black-soled shoes that leaves marks.
- The Building Staff will do basket height adjustment.
- No dunking, slamming or hanging on the rims or the nets.
- No kicking of unapproved balls, basketballs, volleyballs, etc.
- No gum allowed in the fieldhouse.
- No spitting, rough housing, wrestling or pushing allowed.
- No swearing, abusive or inappropriate language allowed.
Open Gym Policy:
- Respect all Building Staff, patrons and equipment.
- Organized games will be allowed only if gym space permits.
- Full court games will be allowed only if gym space permits.
- If organized games are allowed, players waiting to play must be rotated in after each game.
- Building Staff and specifically designated individuals have the right to determine all gym use.
Tennis and Volleyball Reservation Policy:
The Redwood Area Community Center has set days aside for volleyball and tennis reservations. All interested people must follow the policy below in order to reserve a court. There is no court fee for the dates that the Community Center has set aside. Each person playing must either have a membership or pay a daily fee.
- A person may only make a reservation two days in advance.
- Reservations must be made in person or calling the RACC.
- A person may only reserve one court at a time. If no one else has reserved the next time that person may continue playing
Fitness Room
- Must be 16 years and older or follow the under age procedures. (See Youth and Under Age Procedures Page 19) to enter the fitness room.
- Do not drop or slam the weights down (unless on platform areas)
- No food allowed
- Must wear shirts and shoes at all times (Modest attire is expected)
- Wipe off all equipment after each use with the disinfectant and towels.
- If you don’t know how to use a piece of equipment, please ask the Building Staff.
- Building Staff will monitor the volume and channels of the Television. Individual headphones are encouraged. No personal boom boxes are allowed!
- If you have an open sore and/or a contagious illness please refrain from using the fitness room.
- After each use please “unweight” the bars and return the weights to the proper area.
- Usage of the cardiovascular equipment may be structured with a 30-minute schedule.
- It is required that people using free weights must have a spotter.
- Users are expected to move along at a brisk pace through stations.
- Use of the fitness room by coaches, teachers, and activity leaders must include direct supervision by them of participants under their supervision.
Track (1/8 of a mile long or 200 meters)
- Observe and follow daily direction arrows.
- Walkers use lanes 3 & 4. Runners use lanes 1 & 2.
- No standing on the track. All users must keep moving in the direction of traffic.
- Please stay in one lane except when passing slower traffic.
Civic Arena Use During Open Skating
- Always follow daily direction arrows.
- Skate under control at all times.
- Nothing extra on the ice (Examples, but not limited to: hockey sticks, pucks, etc.)
- No racing or “tag” games during open skate.
- Refer to any extra rules that are posted inside the Civic Arena
- Directions from Rink Attendant and/or Building Staff must be followed.
Association - Suspension
Redwood Area Hockey Association, Redwood Area Basketball Association, Redwood Area Youth Baseball Association and Redwood Area Junior Olympics Association board members have adopted a policy that reads, “Any participant suspended from the Redwood Area Community Center will not be allowed to practice in their respective activity until their suspension is lifted from the Community Center.
RACC Parking Lot Use
The RACC parking lot is for patrons using the facility. There will be no student parking in the RACC parking lot between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on school days.
RACC – Animals
The RACC will not allow any animals into the facility unless prior approval has been given by the Parks & Recreation Director. Animals used to help disabled patrons will be allowed.
RACC CLOSING POLICY
15 Minutes Prior to Closing: RACC staff should remind all patrons (politely) that the building closes in 15 minutes. Explain to the patrons that this means they need to be exiting the building at closing time, not showering, putting on their tennis shoes, etc. at closing time.
10 Minutes Prior to Closing: RACC staff should remind all patrons (politely) again that the building closes in 10 minutes. If needed, again explain to the patrons that this means they need to be exiting the building at closing time, not showering, putting on their tennis shoes, etc. at closing time.
5 Minutes Prior to Closing: RACC staff can start to dim the lights (do not turn them completely off), start picking up equipment and letting the patrons know they need to end their activity and start packing up to exit the building.
Redwood Area Community Center - Civic Arena Ice Season - Code of Conduct
All groups using the Fieldhouse must be scheduled with the Redwood Falls Parks & Recreation Staff
All sticks must be placed in the storage rack located inside the team rooms.
No spitting in any part of the Community Center (which include the Civic Arena).
Any body fluids must be immediately cleaned up as per public health procedures. See Blood Borne Pathogens. This includes on and off the ice. Notify Building Staff right away!
No swearing, foul or disrespectful commentary among teams, coaches, adults, etc. will be tolerated. Absolutely no fighting, horseplay, etc. For any of these items, person(s) may be ejected from the building. (Please refer to the Building Code of Conduct).
Designated leaders are responsible for the direct supervision of the participants the entire time they are on the ice. If the coach/supervisor isn’t in the Civic Arena, participants may not be on the ice.
If any items get broken or damaged, please notify the Building Staff as soon as possible.
Food and beverages allowed only in the spectator’s area or in the lobby.
All team rooms and team benches must be totally picked up and in good condition before leaving.
Only people approved by Building Staff may operate the lighting system, scoreboards, and sound system.
Coaches/Supervisors must clearly communicate with parents so kids are not dropped off too early for practice/activity. Players/participants should not arrive before the coaches/supervisors and should be picked up within 15 minutes of completion of practice/event. Players will be allowed to stay longer if a coach/supervisor is with them.
Skates may only be worn on the ice, lobby carpeted area, and the rubber padded flooring; wearing of skates prohibited in bleachers and concrete areas.
All persons (including coaches and adults) on the ice with a hockey stick and/or puck MUST be wearing a helmet. Redwood Valley Varsity Hockey coaches are exempt from this policy, however still strongly encouraged to wear a helmet.
No throwing items onto the ice surface. No hanging on the glass.
No sticks or pucks/tennis balls (etc) in the lobby area or around the outside of the rink. It is only allowed in the shooting area in the back of the area. When in the shooting area rules posted must be followed

Multiple groups will consistently use the Fieldhouse at the same time. Everyone is expected to be courteous to all users.
Coaches/Supervisors must clearly communicate with parents so kids are not dropped off too early for practice/activity. Players/participants should not arrive before the coaches/supervisors and should be picked up within 15 minutes of completion of practice/event. Players will be allowed to stay longer if a coach/supervisor is with them.
When entering/exiting the Fieldhouse always watch for oncoming walkers and runners.
If using the track, please obey the daily track direction arrows.

Health Programs
