The Community Youth Foundation was formed by dedicated parents, along with the City Recreation Department and the Community Education. The group formed the Foundation in an effort to encourage participation in organized recreation and education activities and reduce "risky" behaviors in youth. This Foundation would also help families who have short-term hardships with finances so their children would be able to participate in organized activities.
If in doubt, apply! Any child who resides in your home may be eligible for a scholarship, including foster children. The Foundation board will use the guidelines developed for free or reduced lunches as the basic criteria for scholarship eligibility. Being accepted for a scholarship does not guarantee placement in class - you MUST come and complete a regular registration for classes. All applications are confidential.
Even if you have received a scholarship before, you must reapply each quarter by the due date. Please complete a separate application for each child. Due to limited funds this scholarship is based on a first come, first serve basis.
