Don’t eat alone! The Redwood Falls Senior Center through Lutheran Social Service is pleased to provide nutritious meals served Monday through Friday, 11:30 am, at the Redwood Area Community Center. There is a suggested donation requested for those 60 and better of $6.00 a meal. Those younger than 60, there is a charge of $9.25. Come as often as you like! Our meals are affordable and take the work out of eating healthy.

Not able to get out of the house? No problem! Ask for Meals on Wheels and we will arrange a volunteer to deliver your meal.

Reservations and Special Requests

We respectfully request advance reservations by 12:00 p.m. the day before so that we may best meet the dietary requirements of all diners.

Special Diets
We are happy to meet special dietary needs, such as diabetic, low salt and low fat/low cholesterol diets.

Carryout
Upon request, we provide hot or frozen carryout meals for seniors who need fast and nutrition meals to go. In addition, additional meals can be purchased at full (guest) price for anyone who wants to take home an extra prepared meal that can be easily reheated for dinner.

Health and Wellness

Lutheran Social Service partners with local organizations and agencies to offer health maintenance services at nutrition sites throughout the state.

Services such as health and safety checks, nutrition information, and foot care are provided by the local public health staff or area clinics; those agencies may set fees and eligibility criteria for the services provided. We have found these services to be highly valued by seniors; participation is optional.

Home Delivered Meals

Home-delivered meals help seniors maintain good health and remain in their own homes.

The Meals-on-Wheels program provides a hot, nutritious meal for seniors age 60 and older who are home-bound and unable to prepare their own meals.

Good health

A well-balanced meal can boost immunity and reduce the risks for many health-related conditions and prevent the need for nursing home or assisted living care prematurely.

Affordable meals are available to seniors for a suggested donation.

Good neighbors

Volunteers personally greet and get to know the seniors when they deliver the fresh, hot meals. Seniors enjoy the friendly, personal interaction.

Family members gain peace of mind from knowing that someone is checking on their loved one. If the delivery volunteer notices anything of concern, with the senior’s permission, the senior dining manager can notify family members.

Home-delivery options

Hot, nutritious meals are typically delivered daily Monday through Friday. Frozen meals are available for weekends, holidays and other closure days.

You choose your delivery schedule. You can choose to have a hot meal delivered daily by a friendly volunteer or choose a combination of hot meals and frozen meals delivered on the days that work best for you.
