Softball League Information
League Fees and Preliminary Rosters Due Date:
Friday, May 4, 2012 (Friday, May 25 for Co-Rec) to the RACC
*Please note if your league fees and preliminary rosters are late there will be a $25 late fee.
Player Fees and Final Rosters Due Date:
Friday, June 15, 2012 to the Redwood Area Community Center by 6:00 pm
*Please note if your final rosters are not turned in on time, your team will forfeit your games until it is received and your team will be fined $25.
League Rules Reminders:
1. Men’s and Co-Rec League start with a 1 and 1 count with a courtesy foul. The Co-Rec regular season will be officiated by the teams, and playoffs will use umpires.
2. Church League: Games are 55 minutes long regardless of the number of inning or score differential.
3. Church League: Wood bats provided by the RFSA will be the only bats men are allowed to use in this league. Women may use either the wood or aluminum bats provided by the RFSA. These bats will be available for teams to use, but not to keep.
4. Church League: 2 home bases will be used to provide additional safety to all players.
5. Each team should have a designated person (adult) to keep track of the score on their scorebook.
6. The umpire should check the score to ensure it is correct.

1. Church League Sunday and Monday nights: Westside and Johnson Parks
2. Men’s League plays on Tuesday nights: Main field–Johnson Park {other possible fields—Redwood Valley High School fields or Westside}.
3. Co-Rec League plays on Wednesday nights: Main field–Johnson Park {other possible field–Westside Park}
4. Anyone interested in reviewing minutes from general meetings can get a copy from a board member.
5. Spring Clean-up Day: Completed by “Seniors” by May 1st

NOTE: 1. All rules apply to participants and fans while at the ballpark (except where noted).
2. All suspensions apply to the league that the violation occurred—probations apply to all leagues an individual participates in.
3. “Immediate Penalties” will be issued by officials and/or supervisors
1. No player, manager, coach or team member is allowed to drink alcoholic beverages during a game. Neither may a player, manager, coach, or team member appear in the dugout or on the field of play under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol.
Immediate Penalty: Removal from current game.
Minimum Penalty: Placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension from all remaining league games.
2. No participant/fan may show aggression (ie: lay a hand upon, shove, strike, or threaten) towards an official, coach, player or spectator.
Immediate Penalty: Individual violating this rule is removed from the ballpark.
Minimum Penalty: Suspension from two league games and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension from all City Recreation Softball activities for one year and placed on probation the following year.
3. No participant/fan shall refuse to abide by an official’s decision.
Immediate Penalty: Individual violating this rule is removed from the ballpark.
Minimum Penalty: Placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension from two league games and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
4. No participant/fan shall use obscene gestures or objectionable demonstration of dissent concerning an official’s decision during or after a game.
Immediate Penalty: An automatic “out”, with a penalty up to being removed from the game.
Minimum Penalty: Placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension from two league games and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
5. The MSF/ASA casual profanity rule shall be in effect (based off an official’s or supervisor’s judgment).
Immediate Penalty: An automatic “out” as stated in the ASA rulebook, with a penalty of up to being removed from the game.
Minimum Penalty: Placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension from two league games and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
6. No participant/fan shall use profanity or abusive language towards another player, coach, official or spectator.
Immediate Penalty: Individual violating this rule is removed from the ballpark.
Minimum Penalty: Placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension from two league games and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
7. Discussions with an official regarding game decisions will only occur through the team captain.
Immediate Penalty: A verbal warning, with a penalty of up to being removed from the game.
Minimum Penalty: Placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension from two league games and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
8. No participant/fan shall use unnecessary roughness against an opposing player/fan.
Immediate Penalty: Individual violating this rule is removed from the ballpark.
Minimum Penalty: Placed on probation for the remainder for the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension from all remaining league games.
9. No participant/fan shall smoke while on the field of play, including the dugout or team bench area.
Immediate Penalty: A verbal warning, with a penalty of up to being removed from the game.
Minimum Penalty: Placed on probation for the remainder for the season.
Maximum Penalty: Suspension from one league game and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
10. Violators of this Code of Conduct with more than 1 penalty in 5 years will be subject to suspension from any Redwood Falls Softball Association activities. This suspension will be effective up to 3 years.
