Full-Time Parks & Recreation Director
The City of Redwood Falls is seeking applications for a full-time Parks and Recreation Director Position. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing a comprehensive parks and recreation program to meet the needs of the citizens of Redwood Falls and surrounding area. This position performs various management and administrative duties including basic finance, marketing, programming support, inventory management, facility scheduling and rentals. Oversees staffing and supervision of full-time and part-time personnel. Prepares written communications and announcements for the Parks and Recreation Department. Functions as the Redwood Area Community Center Manager and coordinates special projects as needed.
This position requires extensive organization skills and the ability to work independently using sound judgment and administrative skills.
Requirements for the position include a Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in business, administration, or related field; recreational programming and sports facility management desirable or work experience or equivalent in a related field. Must possess proficient skills in the areas of project management, organizational detail, customer service, computer applications, and general administrative, clerical, and basic bookkeeping areas. Previous management experience desired. Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously, have good communication skills, and work effectively with the public and other employees in a teamwork environment. Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently. Marketing and promotion skills desirable and helpful.
This is a Grade 8 salaried position. Starting salary range $48,326.72 – $71,807.84/year depending on qualifications and includes a competitive employee benefit package.

Customer Service Representative
The City of Redwood Falls Parks & Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for a part-time Customer Service Representative for the Redwood Area Community Center. Hours will entail nights and weekends. Applicant for this position must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Duties include extensive customer service and public contact, answering/directing phone calls, managing front counter operations, greet and direct visitors and perform various secretarial duties. Previous experience requiring secretarial skills, basic computer skills and customer service preferred. Individual must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Starting salary range is $9.50-$12.25/hour depending upon qualifications.

2018 Summer Employment
It is never too early to be thinking about summer 2018 employment with the City of Redwood Falls Recreation Department. Summer staff include Lifeguards (must be 15 to take the class) and Water Safety Instructors (must be 16 to take the class) at the Aquatic Center.
